Since 1912, the Royal Rosarians have been, by the Mayor’s proclamation, the “Official Greeters and Ambassadors of Good Will for the City of Roses.” Recently the Rosarians have assumed additional responsibilities in the community and we are inviting friends and supporters to join in that effort. These efforts are funded, in part, through the Royal Rosarian Foundation, a qualified 501(c)(3) non profit corporation and your generous contributions.
We would appreciate your support by donating an item and by attending our Hearts and Roses Auction (with a touch of Comedy) being held February 7, 2009 at the DoubleTree Lloyd Center Hotel in support of our endeavor.
The Royal Rosarian Foundation is engaged in a growing program of support for our community in three distinct areas of influence. We are engaged in helping improve the lives of Children at Risk, providing Music Scholarships for Youth and encouraging Community Spirit. In addition we support and fund the “ROSES Christmas for Kids Program” program, which provides needy children an opportunity to receive new winter clothing through a supervised shopping experience.
One of the projects the Foundation supports and funds is a “Field Trip” program which helps disadvantaged children join their classmates on fee-based field trips their families can’t afford to pay for. Antonio Lopez, Principal at Clarendon-Portsmouth Elementary School wrote in his evaluation, “It was great to not have to say, “Sorry, you can’t go.”” At Vernon School, the students in the seventh and eighth grades classes were given field trips for maintaining good grades and good behavior. Leslie Butterfield, interim principal, wrote, “…Without this kind of assistance we can not offer many of the enrichment/rewards types of opportunities to our kids.”
It is through donors like yourself that the Royal Rosarian Foundation Hearts and Roses Benefit Auction can raise the funds to make a difference in the lives of children, youth and our community…a benefit that will enrich all of us. Thank you for your consideration.
