Our Mission Statement

Mission:
The Royal Rosarian Foundation is a 501(c) (3) corporation organized under the Oregon Nonprofit Corporation law as an operating entity to function as an adjunct of the Royal Rosarian's of Portland. A Board of Directors in close liaison with the Royal Rosarian Council administers it in order to accomplish the objectives and purposes set forth in the Articles of Incorporation and Amended Bylaws.

  Events Supported by the Foundation

* Kids and Police
An interactive lunch hour that unites kids and police at elementary schools. This program builds relationships and cultivates communication, breaking down cultural behavior that comprise neighborhood safety.

* Christmas for Kids
In the spirit of the holidays, this supervised shopping experience provides needy children an opportunity to receive winter clothing. In addition, this program helps to rebuild and preserve a child's self esteem.

* Leave no Child Behind
"Leave no Child behind on Field Trips" is helping disadvantaged children join their classmates on fee-based field trips.

* Scholarships for our Youth
Scholarships for private music lessons enable high school students to improve their musical skills and march with the Royal Rosarian Foundation Honor Band in the Rose Festival Parades.

* Rose Garden
The Royal Rosarian Foundation supports the Washington Park Rose Garden through financial and volunteer efforts. Other events that elevate Portland as the City of Roses are also supported.

* Newsmakers
Members of the community are honored for their heroism and/or outstanding humanitarian work at the annual Newsmakers of the Year banquet.

* Portland Rose Festival
The Royal Rosarian Foundation enables worthy organizations and individuals the opportunity to experience Rose Festival Parades as a parade participant.

* Queen's Garden Party
Rose Festival history is showcased when the Foundation hosts its honored guests, the former Queen's of Rosaria, to the Queen's Garden Party.

* Rose Garden Contest and Awards Ceremony
The Royal Rosarian's invite local community organizations and residents to participate in this annual contest. Rosarian's trained in judging practices visit the gardens and rate them on a number of points in many categories. Winners of the categories are presented with awards at the Awards Ceremony.

* Honor Band
In 2005 & 2006, the Royal Rosarian Foundation sponsored an honor band of Portland high school band students that marched in the Grand Floral Parade. In recent years, Portland area high school bands have not been given as much opportunity to march in the Grand Floral Parade. The Foundation wanted to bring this wonderful experience back to the high school kids, and they want it to become an annual tradition.

* Auction
The annual Hearts and Roses Auction raises money for the Foundation for scholarships and community contributions.

    Contributions
All contributions are tax deductible and are used solely for the purposes and objectives of the Foundation. Donors may make gifts and memorials to the Foundation in the memory of deceased friends and loved ones.
